Overdose Response Training
Simple Training. Lasting Impact.
Harm reduction saves lives by meeting people where they are and providing tools to prevent overdose and infection. Communities can play a critical role in harm reduction by having the tools and resources to save a life. Rural geography and stigma can limit access to overdose prevention tools and education, leaving many residents without these resources. In partnership with Vermont CARES, CVPC coordinates free overdose education and Narcan distribution across CVMC departments and community partners.
Impact & Successes
Over 400 community members trained in overdose response and Narcan administration since 2020
Nearly 600 harm reduction kits distributed through CVMC primary care practices since 2020
1 low-barrier wound care clinic established to address xylazine-related wounds
